- The fast move is the false move. When you see quick, dramatic candles form in one direction you can bet your grandma’s britches that it’s Market Maker activity. They are spiking price in a direction, inducing traders to go that way, while their intent is to pull back price to the opposite direction and take all our liquidity (LOCK UP OUR SWEET LITTLE PIPS).
- Never chase rising or falling currency. Let the MMs show you their hand. Similar to point 1, but I think the foot-stomp here is to remain patient. Don’t jump on price as it’s slowly drifting in one direction or the other (non-MM activity). Instead, it’s best to wait until you see the signal from the MMs that a move is coming, and then make your entry with that knowledge up in your noggin.
- Market Makers drop price to buy, and pump to dump. Self explanatory, but it sounds cool and has a rhyme at the end. Tino is a huge fan of 1990s American gangster rap, and actually has “Thug Life” tatted on his chest. I just made that up.
- Tino hates the number four apparently, so he skipped it. As an aside, did you know that the Mandarin word for “four” 四 is pronounced like the word for “death” 死? Thus, the Chinese consider the number four to be a bad luck omen, kinda like westerners do with the number 13. This has been a free Mandarin lesson brought to you by bang0utthez0ne.
- Market Makers will extend highs & lows in threes. Also, the rule of three. Always take notice of three vector candles in one direction, three pins to the high/low. Also, little known fact: If you fart three times in a row, the next one will be a shart. It’s science.
- Market Makers need to make a profit, and they will take your liquidity to do it. This is about stop-hunts, usually a 25-50 pip move in the opposite direction of the larger move they are making. Be aware of this concept as you plan your risk tolerance and S/L placement. Protect your pips. And your nips. Protect them too.
- Learn to understand fractional disparity, and determine if the MMs are moving majors or minors. Tino showed us his grid layout for watching 9 Forex pairs, so that he can quickly determine which category are being moved and which are being held. Here is that layout:

8. Bonus point from everyone’s favorite uncle, PcShed: There are no shortcuts when price watching and training your eyes. Don’t even try it. If you do, PcShed will hide under your bed during the day, and at night while you’re sleeping he will pinch your toes with a pair of rusty needle-nose pliers. Also, the number 8 in Chinese is considered lucky. I don’t remember why. Google it yourselves, you lazy jokers.
